Gemma’s Trip Highlights: Bringing in the new year at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay street party. Riding the Ferris Wheel one night in Edinburgh. Yummy cadbury chocolate. Swimming in Perth. Enjoying great company! Having fun by the beach in St. Andrews. Christmas Day. Watching the sunset over frozen Loch Leven. Exploring several castles. Walking about exploring Edinburgh.

Costa Rica- Central America

Areas & Sites Visited: Jaco, Volcan Poas, San Ignacio, Hermosa Beach, San Jose Volcano Poas Costa Rica

Gemma’s Trip Highlights: Paragliding off a cliff over the beach. Relaxing and boogie boarding on Jaco beach. Drinking pina coladas at the Colonial bar in Jaco village. Seeing a volcano up close for the first time, Volcan Poas. The first night with the suicide shower. The round of applause that broke out from the local passengers on the aircraft when we landed in San Jose. Practicing speaking Spanish.

Other: Stayed on Jaco beach at Girasol for the majority of the trip.

Nassau Bahamas Cruise

Gemma’s Trip Highlights: My first cruise experience. Good times relaxing and having fun with friends.

Other: I thought Nassau was extremely touristy and didn’t have much to offer. Cococay was very overcrowded by the time most people on the boat disembarked. Overall i decided that cruising is my least favorite way of travel but it is fine for kicking back and relaxing.

Kuala Lumpur-Penang-Langkawi-Cameron Highlands- Sungai Petani- Malaysia- Asia

Gemma’s Trip Highlights: Relaxing on the beach at Langkawi and exploring the small island off the coast. Spending time with family. Exploring Telaga Tujuh waterfall on Langkawi Island. Riding in the Mini Moke around the Rubber plantation. Shooting pool at the Casuarina. Chicken satay and sugar cane juice. Go cart racing on the Morac circuit. Christmas Day.  Jewelry shopping. Paddle pops! Seeing wild toucans. Prawn crackers on the drive up to Cameron Highlands. Live music at the Hard Rock in KL. Seeing aborigines. Milo. Touring the tea plantation. The night markets. Jet skiing off Penang beach. Rubber pillows. Penang ferry. Eating rambutans and lichies. Visiting the batik factory in Penang. Langkawi Island Malaysia

Other: Stayed at: Burau Bay Resort- Langkawi, Concorde- Kuala Lumpur, Casuarina- Penang, Merlin Inn- Cameron Highlands.

Stopped in Hong Kong on the way to Malaysia for a day and stayed over in New York City for a day/night on the way back from Malaysia to break up the flight.

Gemma’s Trip Highlights:  The views from Hong Kong Peak. The ferry ride. Open top double-deck bus ride through the streets of Hong Kong Island. Funicular up to Hong Kong Peak. Meeting Caroline. Seeing the boats coming and going out of Victoria Harbour.
